Sri Hemkunt International Symposium - Silicon Valley Zone, July 25-28, 2024
We are pleased to host the Sri Hemkunt International 2024 competition at Sikh Gurdwara San Jose this July. The Symposium is conducted worldwide in more than 25 zones. It helps children learn about Sikh history, culture, and philosophy.
Sikhi Jeevan
To encourage, promote and disseminate the teachings of the Sikh Gurus, and their gospel of universal brotherhood, peace and tolerance.
Spirituality & Science
The foundation aims to impart spiritual, moral and religious teachings in a scientific manner.
Gurbani Teachings
To promote learning the Punjabi language in Gurmukhi script and studying the spiritual teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Keertan, Speech Competitions & More
The Symposium is conducted worldwide in more than 25 zones. It helps children learn about Sikh history, culture, and philosophy. There is a local competition for the children at the local Gurdwaras. The top two winners in each group compete at the zonal level with the winners from other Gurdwaras within the zone.
Speech
The speech competition encourages youth to be learn and be able to articulate their knowledge by educating others.
Keertan
The Keertan Darbaar is a competition held at Regional and International level which helps children learn about the emotions behind various shabads.
